RiverSouth – a Class A commercial real estate property developed by Stream Realty Partners and QuadReal in Austin, Texas – launched support for employee badge in Apple Wallet and corporate badge in Google Wallet. This launch made it the first property to enable seamless NFC access across the major digital wallet providers.

Working alongside Wavelynx, SwiftConnect implemented this experience by integrating our AccessCloud platform with RiverSouth’s existing access control system. Employees and tenants can now use their iPhone, Apple Watch, Android, or Galaxy device to access parking garages, elevator destination dispatch kiosks, smart lockers, and amenities like the gym; no physical badge required.

The full deployment spans Wavelynx readers, rf IDEAS terminals for garage entry, and Vecos smart lockers, with our platform unifying these systems behind the scenes. By supporting credential delivery through RiverSouth’s existing app, we’ve enabled a cost-effective, secure, and intuitive access experience that aligns with modern expectations – no rip and replace required.

“We aim to give the people at RiverSouth the most appealing experiences that enrich their digital-first lifestyles, while delivering the ‘cool factor’ of using a smartphone or smartwatch to access our building with remarkable ease. Making NFC access available in digital wallets from all of the major providers is an innovation that will change the way everyone can navigate our corporate buildings and spaces.”

Eric Herron, Managing Director of Development and Construction at RiverSouth

THE OPPORTUNITY

RiverSouth set out to enhance its reputation as a leading smart building by offering seamless, mobile-first access that aligned with the expectations of modern tenants and employees. The goal was to deliver a secure, intuitive entry experience – without disrupting existing systems or compromising on convenience.

At the same time, RiverSouth aimed to support a range of mobile devices and wallet platforms, ensuring broad compatibility and ease of use. To meet this standard, the building required a solution that could integrate with multiple technologies while enabling secure, tap-based access across parking, elevators, lockers, and amenities.

SOLUTIONS & BENEFITS

We worked with Wavelynx to enable employee badge in Apple Wallet and corporate badge in Google Wallet at RiverSouth. Now, employees and tenants can use their iPhone, Apple Watch, Android device, or Galaxy Phone to tap and access the building’s parking garage, elevator kiosks, smart lockers, gym, and other amenities.

Our AccessCloud platform integrated seamlessly with RiverSouth’s existing access control system and Wavelynx credentials, enabling on-demand and self-service mobile access without replacing hardware. This deployment also included reader terminals from rf IDEAS for parking kiosks and smart lockers from Vecos, ensuring comprehensive support for mobile credentials across all spaces.

“Our connected access capabilities provide RiverSouth with the ability to seamlessly integrate all of the business systems used for physical access to create a delightful user journey, improve operational efficiency through remote and centralized management, and enhance security. The beauty of SwiftConnect’s AccessCloud platform is that it integrates with a building’s existing hardware, software, and mobile application to bring on-demand and self-service mobile access experiences to tenants of trophy buildings and employees of major corporations worldwide.”

Matt Kopel, co-CEO at SwiftConnect

HOW IT WORKS

Mobile credentials are issued through RiverSouth’s building app – available on the App Store and Google Play – and securely added to users’ digital wallets. Our AccessCloud software integrates with the building’s existing infrastructure to provision credentials remotely, eliminating the need for plastic cards and enabling seamless tap-based access.

THE ACCESS EXPERIENCE

  • Tenants use the existing RiverSouth app to receive mobile credentials
  • Credentials are provisioned directly to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet
  • Users tap their iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android device to Wavelynx readers to unlock access points
  • Permissions are centrally managed and updated in real time
  • Credentials are stored securely on the mobile device

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

The introduction of corporate badges in the RiverSouth mobile app is part of Stream Realty Partners’ and QuadReal’s dedication to improve the building environment and create unparalleled user experiences. SwiftConnect is excited to support them on this ongoing journey, wherever we can.
